Description

This trail combines interval climbing with flowing flat and downhill sections. The surface is mostly hard packed with several root-ier sections. Because of the surface of Ft Benning, the trail drains great and is normally ride-able with in 48 hrs of even the heaviest rainstorms.
Fort Benning MTB Trail is a hand built, 18 inch wide singletrack with 98% of the trail being covered. This trail has everything from fast flowing downhills to short interval climbs with several man-made and natural technical features, including several 12" plus log overs.

One of the main features of the trail is the downsloping bridge and a wood jump section. The two jumps are for more advanced level riders and there is a ride around.

The Fort Benning MTB Trail is ridden counter clockwise from either parking lot. Major turns are marked by red 4x4 posts with directional arrows.

If you are an MTB purist, this is the trail for you, currently (as of 03 March 2014) there are 11.25 miles with plans for 10 more in the near future.

Follow the link below for a map of the trail. The trail was not completely finished when i did this GPS map. You will need to get a pass to enter the Army Base. The point farthest north is the trail head.
